Most Alumni Extension professional development falls under the umbrella of our Certifications program, a component of the National Leadership Institute, a NSBE Signature Program.
National ConventionThe NSBE National Convention provides members an opportunity to meet with almost 10,000 other African-American engineers and students from across the nation. The National Convention is highlighted by the Golden Touch Awards and a large career fair, sponsored by over 200 major companies. The Golden Touch Awards is a gala event hosted by NSBE to recognize the accomplishments of talented engineers in industry, government, and academia. The Golden Touch Awards also recognize the academic accomplishments of high school and college students. Finally, The National Convention provides a variety of professional, technical, and personal development workshops
One of the highlights of the National Convention is the Technical Professional Conference, where a variety of developmental workshops are provided for Alumni members. Training courses are being added, with emphasis on the Project Management Professional Certification.
